Charles O. Ervin, 85, former Stanhope and Boone resident, died Monday morning at the Spencer Municipal hospital.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 20, at 1:30 p.m. at the Stanhope Christian church with the Rev. Richard Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Lawn Hill cemetery at Stanhope. The body will lie in state at Schroeder Funeral home in Boone until 11 a.m. Thursday.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Agnes McCall of Spencer; one sister, Mrs. Gladys Tribble of Indiana; one grandson, Charles Petersen of Boone; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ervin formerly farmed in the Stanhope area until his retirement.

He was a member of the Stanhope Christian church. He was a veteran of World war I.
