Funeral services for Fred Vogelsang, 75, longtime resident of the Stanhope community will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Robert Karl Miller officiating. Burial will be made in the Lawn Hill cemetery near Stanhope.

Mr. Vogelsang died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at the Veterans' hospital in Des Moines where he had been a patient since May 18. He had been in ill health the past several months.

William Frederick Vogelsang, son of William and Rose Vogelsang, was born Sept. 16, 1889 at Arlington, Iowa. He was reared and educated at Arlington, later moving to the Stanhope community. He served with the U.S. armed services during World War I.

He was united in marriage Sept. 16, 1933 to Flossie Grimes, and the couple had always resided in the Stanhope community where he had engaged in business.

He is survived by his wife; one brother, Chester Vogelsang, of Arlington; one nephew, Max Eppard, Kamrar, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Mr. Vogelsang was baptized in the Christian faith.
