Delores Sullivan, 90, Gowrie and a former Stanhope area resident, died Feb. 28, 1997 at the Gowrie Care Center. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Stratford, with Rev. David Fernlund officiating. Burial was at Lawn Hill Cemetery, southeast of Stanhope. Foster Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Delores Rachel Huntman, daughter of Frank and Delpha Risley Huntman, was born April 29, 1906 in Velpen, Ind. She was educated at Velpen and St. Louis, Mo. On April 12, 1923 she married Charles Alexander Sullivan in St. Louis. The couple resided at St. Louis and in Mt. Vernon and then in St. Louis, Ill. She was a homemaker. Her husband died in October of 1968. In 1972, she moved to her daughter's home in rural Stanhope. She had resided at the Gowrie Care Center since October of 1995.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and James Greear, Las Vegas, Nev., Virginia and Francis Carlson, Stanhope; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Jackie Sullivan, Las Vegas, Ed and Karen Sullivan, Coal City, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by daughters, Marie Sullivan, and Ruth Hayes; granddaughter, Cheryl Greear; brother, Homer Huntman; and sister, Hazel Huntman.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Eastern Star of Belleville, Ill.
