Minnie O. Sorenson, 68, long time Stanhope resident, died early Sunday morning at the North Grand Care Center in Ames where she had resided the past two months.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Christian Church in Stanhope with the Rev. David Burright officiating. Burial will be in the Lawn Hill Cemetery near Stanhope. The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral Home until noon Wednesday when it will be taken to the church.

Minnie O. Neuman, daughter of Adolph and Anna Linde Neuman, was born Dec. 5, 1910 at Boyd, Minn. She was reared and educated in Cottonwood, Minn. and was married Dec. 7, 1932 to Earl Leon Sorenson. The couple made their home at Hanley Falls, Minn., until 1941 when they moved to Stanhope and for many years owned and operated Sorenson's Café in Stanhope.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dec. 21, 1960, and she continued to operate the café, which was then called Minnie's Café, until her retirement in November of 1977. She had resided in Stanhope since that time.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Bonnie) Ahrens of Boone; four grandsons, Michael, Dennis, Duane and Mark Feaker; four sisters, Mrs. Wilbert (Dora) Volkmann of Wood Lake, Minn., Mrs. Bennie (Elsie) Warn of Coon Rapids, Minn., Mrs. Harold (Viola) Sheer and Mrs. George (Violet) Sheer, both of Wood Lake, Minn.; one brother, Clarence Neuman of Cottonwood and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son who died in infancy, a granddaughter who died in infancy, her parents and three brothers.

She was a member of the Christian Church in Stanhope.
