Inez V. McCoy, 85, of Story City died on Friday, October 22, 2004 at Bethany Manor in Story City, Iowa. Memorial services were held on Monday, October 25, 2004 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City with Pastor Stephen Anenson officiating. Burial of the cremains will follow at Long [Lawn] Hill Cemetery in Stanhope, Iowa.

Inez was born on March 24, 1919 in Clear Lake Township of Hamilton County, Iowa to John E. and Agnes (Sandal) Iverson. She was baptized May 11, 1919 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Stanhope, Iowa. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith October 1, 1933 at the same church. Inez graduated from Randall High School. She attended Waldorf College and graduated from Cedar Falls Teacher College. Inez taught at several schools, including those in South Hamilton School Districts and Fullerton, California. She married Orville Charlson on June 20, 1941.

They resided on a farm southwest of Jewell, Iowa until 1964 when they moved to Mesa, Arizona. Inez worked as an administrative assistant at Arizona State University and Mesa Community College until her retirement. She was widowed on December 1974. She married Robert McCoy on January 14, 1977. She moved to Story City, Iowa in 1997 and has resided at Bethany Manor since 1999.

Inez is survived by her two sons, David (Judi) Charlson of Story City, Iowa and Richard (Nina) Charlson of Eugene, Oregon; three grandsons, Mark (Veronica) Charlson of Randall, Iowa, Scott and Jake Charlson of Eugene, Oregon, a granddaughter-in-law, Barbara Charlson of Des Moines; 8 great grandchildren; and one sister, Signa Swenson of Story City, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Orville on December 1974, her second husband Robert McCoy in 1988, a sister, Delma Johnson and her grandson, Kent Charlson, who died on October 22, 2004, 4 hours after her death.

Arrangements were entrusted to Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada, Iowa.
