Malmberg Rites Monday

Mrs. Arthur E. Malmberg, 63, longtime resident of the Stanhope community, died at 3:05 p.m. Thursday at the Mary Greeley hospital in Ames, where she had been a patient the past two weeks. She had been in ill health for several years.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Methodist church in Stanhope. The Rev. D.L. Draper will officiate and burial will be in the Lawn Hill cemetery at Stratford [should be Stanhope]. The body will lie in state at the Foster funeral home until 10 a.m. Monday, when it will be taken to the church.

Alice Myrtle Patterson, daughter of Edward and Emma Patterson, was born March 1, 1897 on a farm near Stratford. She attended the Stratford schools and grew to young womanhood in that community. She later attended the former Highland Park college in Des Moines where she took a business course. She was employed in the business field in Des Moines for several years.

She was united in marriage Feb. 23, 1927 to Arthur E. Malmberg. Since their marriage they had farmed one mile south of Stanhope.

Mrs. Malmberg is survived by her husband; one brother and two sisters, Earl Patterson of Stratford, Mrs. Roy (Mae) Houseberg of Stanhope and Mrs. Eugene (Maurine) Donnell of Green, Maine; three nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by three daughters who died in infancy; by her parents and one brother.

Mrs. Malmberg was a member of the Methodist church at Stanhope and was a member of the Ladies Aid of the church.
