A.E. Malmberg Died Sunday

Arthur E. Malmberg, 68, longtime resident of the Stanhope community, died early Sunday morning at the Hamilton county hospital where he had been a patient since Friday evening.

He had been in ill health the past two years.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church in Stanhope with the Rev. D.L. Draper officiating and with burial in the Lawn Hill cemetery southeast of Stanhope.

The body will lie in state at the Foster funeral home until 11 o'clock Tuesday morning when it will be taken to the church.

Arthur Edward Malmberg, son of John and Matilda Malmberg, was born Aug. 31, 1893, on a farm near Stanhope. He was reared and educated in the Stanhope community.

He was united in marriage Feb. 23, 1927, to Alice Myrtle Patterson, and the couple had always farmed one mile south of Stanhope.

Mr. Malmberg is survived by three nieces, Mrs. Roy (Phyllis) Coslow, Britt, Mrs. Bill (Nancy) Obrecht of Anaheim, Calif., and Mrs. John (Shirley) Bade, Garden Grove, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1960, by three daughters who died in infancy, his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Mr. Malmberg was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith as a small boy but had been a member of the Stanhope Methodist church for many years.
