Esther D. Jenkins, 89, lifelong Stanhope area resident, died Monday, March 31, at the Hamilton County Hospital, where she had been a patient for one week.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 Thursday, April 3 at the Foster Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lawn Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Foster Funeral Home after 7 p.m. tonight.

Esther Dorothea Sealine, daughter of Oliver and Charlotte Samuelson Sealine, was born Aug. 20, 1896 at Stanhope, where she received her education.

On June 28, 1938 she was married to Frank Oscar Jenkins at Nashua. The couple made their home in Stanhope. For 6-1/2 years prior to Mr. Jenkins death in 1957, they resided on a farm southwest of Stanhope.

In 1957, she moved into Stanhope where she had since resided.

She is survived by one son and one daughter, Paul O. Jenkins, Cedar Rapids; and Ruth E. McCoy of Stanhope; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, Arnold Sealine, Story City.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Jenkins was a member of the Church of God, E.O.T. Club, and had been a 4-H leader for many years.
