Lester A. Davis, 51, of Webster City, died Wednesday, March 8, at his home as the result of a fire.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest next to his dad in the Center School Cemetery. Born on June 6th, 1965, in Grinnell, Iowa, he was the youngest of four children born to Donald Marvin and Viola Grace (Onthank) Davis. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1984 and enjoyed playing guitar in a band with his friends by the name of Thinn Ice. In 1987, they regrouped with new members and formed the band Prussian Blue.

Lester had been married to Kandi Roads and was currently blessed with the companionship of Tina Murray, who also was in the fire. She continues her recovery at the University of Iowa Hospital. Mr. Davis was employed at the time of his death at Webster City Custom Meats.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Viola Grace Davis of LeGrand and three siblings, Gloria (Dennis) Carkhuff, Donna (Chris) Sloat and Jeff (Brenda) Davis and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In death, Lester rejoined his father, Donald Marvin Davis.
