Funeral services for J.N. Branch, 75, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Methodist church in Stanhope, preceded by a brief service at 1:30 at the family home three and one-half miles northeast of Stanhope.

The Rev. F.M. Garett will officiate with burial in the Lawn Hill cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Foster funeral home until 4 p.m. Thursday when it will be taken to the family home.

Mr. Branch, a lifelong resident of the Stanhope community, died at 12:30 pm Tuesday at his home near Stanhope. His death was sudden, being attributed to a heart attack.

James Nelson Branch, son of Nelson and Sarah Branch, was born August 15, 1882, on a farm north of Stanhope. He was educated in the Stanhope schools and grew to young manhood in that community.

He was united in marriage October 17, 1906, to Mabel Read, and Mr. and Mrs. Branch farmed for five years on the Read family farm, then moved to the present farm home three and one-half miles northeast of Stanhope.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Burt (Fern) Richardson of Webster City and Mrs. Forrest (Geraldine) Urbin, South Bend, Ind.; five grandchildren, John and Mary Ann Urbin and Sue, Jim and Jane Richardson; one sister, Mrs. Jackson Groves, Stanhope.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.

Mr. Branch attended the Methodist church in Stanhope. The family has suggested that friends so desiring may make memorial contributions to the Heart Fund.
