Funeral rites for John H. Walsh, 94, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic church.

The Rev. Father Vincent Walsh, Maryknoll priest and son of the deceased, will offer the funeral mass with the Rev. Father H.P. Nosbisch of Williams as deacon and the Rev. Father Linux Rasing as sub-deacon.

Burial will be made in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery at Williams.

Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Foster funeral home.

Mr. Walsh, a longtime resident of the Williams and Webster City communities, died Friday morning following an illness of several years.

John Henry Walsh, son of John and Elizabeth Walsh, was born Aug. 15, 1867 [headstone says 1868], near Lostant in La Salle county, Ill. He was reared and educated in Illinois.

He was united in marriage Dec. 29, 1896 to Katherine Comisky, and Mr. and Mrs. Walsh farmed in Illinois until 1905, moving to Iowa and locating on a farm near Williams.

His wife preceded him in death June 7, 1928, and Mr. Walsh made his home on the farm until 1943, when he moved into Webster City. He had resided since at 1700 Superior St.

He is survived by four sons and three daughters: Philip Walsh of Williams, James Walsh of Compton, Calif., the Rev. Father Vincent Walsh of Hollywood, Fla., Edward Walsh of Chicago, Mrs. Virgil (Nellie) Boozell of Webster City, Miss Mary Walsh of Webster City; Mrs. Mark (Marcella) Keigan of Dassel, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one brother, the Rev. Father Philip Walsh of Clearwater, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his wife; one son, Leroy; one daughter, Agnes, his parents, three brothers and five sisters.

Mr. Walsh was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic church.
