WILLIAMS, Iowa, Jan. 14 (Special.) - George Doyle, a resident of Williams and vicinity for the past 50 years, passed away at his home here Sunday afternoon at 3:15, death being due to heart trouble. Mr. Doyle had been in poor health for a number of years and three years ago suffered a stroke while spending the winter in Los Angeles. A year ago last summer he had another stroke while at work on the roads with a grader, and since that time has been able to be around and, until this winter, was seen daily on the streets of Williams. His immediate friends had noticed for the past several weeks that he was not so well.

George Doyle was born at Albany, N.Y., Jan. 1, 1864, and passed away at Williams Jan. 9, 1927, at the age of 63 years and 9 days. The deceased came to Dubuque as a child and to Hamilton county 55 years ago. Mr. Doyle worked on the railroad for a time, later buying a farm four miles northwest of town. He was united in marriage to Maggie Franklin June 9, 1887, and to this union 12 children were born, all of whom with the exception of one, are still living.

Mr. and Mrs. Doyle left the farm 15 years ago this March, coming to Williams where Mr. Doyle operated a dray line for a while. Later he operated an oil wagon for the Standard Oil company.

Besides the children, there are left to mourn his departure, one brother, and two sisters and 22 grandchildren, his wife having preceded him in death Nov. 25, 1925. The children are Geo. A., of Williams; John H., of Fort Dodge; James, of Dodge City, Kan.; Mae Simpson, of Williams; Carrie Christiansen, of Waukegan, Ill.; Vincent and Margaret, both of Waukeegan; Florence Ashmore, of Chicago; Francis, Thomas, Leslie and Edward, all of Williams. The living brother is S.E. Doyle, of Chicago, and the two sisters are Mrs. Fielding Wood, of Williams, and Mrs. J. Murphy, of Brookings, S.D.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock from the St. Mary's Catholic church with Father O'Meara in charge. Interment was made in the Williams cemetery.
