Helen Parrish, 95, of Webster City, died Friday, December 30, 2016 at Van Diest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Webster City Church of Christ with Reverend Ray Artrip officiating. Burial will follow the service at Graceland Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.

Helen Maxine Maxon, the daughter of Harry and Irene Thompson Maxon, was born March 18, 1921 in Webster City. She graduated from Lincoln High in 1939. She married Joseph L. Parrish on April 13, 1940. She was a Hamilton County Deputy Recorder and later, an insurance coordinator at American Federal Savings and Loan in Des Moines for 13 years, retiring in 1986.

She is survived by her husband, Joe of Webster City; daughter-in-law, Lisa Parrish of Arizona; grandchildren, Matthew (Tina) Parrish of Vashon Island, WA; Julie Friesth of Fort Dodge; 6 great-grandchildren; niece, Marcia Carlson of Klamath Falls, OR.

In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her son, Joe Parrish Jr.; brother, Warren Maxon; and sister, Mary Crosley.

Helen was a member of the Church of Christ, Purity Rebbekah Lodge #72 of Webster City, Royal Neighbors of America, LAPM and Webster City Women’s Club. She enjoyed cross stich and spending time with her family.
