Lyle Anderson, 85, of Williams, died Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Bethany Manor in Story City. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center in Webster City. Burial will be at a later date at the Williams Cemetery.

Lyle Samuel Anderson, the son of Samuel and Edna Kolling Anderson was born on April 27, 1931 on the family farm in Hamilton County. He was baptized on June 21, 1931 at the English Lutheran Church in Webster City. Lyle was confirmed on March 25, 1945 at the Bethany Lutheran Church. He graduated from Radcliffe High School in 1948. He served in the United States National Guard. On January 20, 1951, he married Barbara Jean Carnell in Webster City. The couple resided on their farm west of Williams. He retired from farming at the age of 65.

He is survived by his children, Karla (Gary) Selseth of Anoka, MN; Jon (Cindy) Anderson of Jewell; grandchildren, Tyler Anderson of Blairsburg; Travis (Lindsey) Anderson of Jewell; Erik Selseth of Anoka, MN; great-grandchildren, Connor and Kaydence; sister, Shirley Withers of Randall.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara in 2004; and brother, James Anderson.

Lyle was a member of the Williams United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, country music and farming.
