Rickey Dean Clayberg, 70, of Ames, died November 13, 2016 at Mary Greeley Medical Center from a sudden illness. Rick was born on January 1, 1946, in Story City to Richard and Florence “Pat” (Burnett) Clayberg. He graduated from Ames High School in 1964. He married Loween Schroeder in 1968. They later divorced. He was a talented florist working in Ames, Boone, Belmond, and Webster City. In 1988, he moved to Arizona where he worked for the Safeway company as district manager for their floral departments. In 2007, he moved back to Ames and worked for a short time at Cub Foods before his retirement.

He is survived by his two sons, Aaron (Lisa) Clayberg of Ames, and Nathan (Kelly) Clayberg of Independence. Four grandchildren, Austin, Carter, Rachel, and Daniel Clayberg. Sister, Patricia (Dennis) Swanson of Story City, and brother, Michael (Judy) Clayberg of Altoona, Nephew, Scott Hohenshell and nieces, Wendy Warden and Marci Burns.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was cremated and there will be a private family service at a later date. Rasmussen-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada was in charge of arrangements.
