Fern Davis, 99 years, one month, 6 days, of Story City, formerly of Stratford died Monday, October 17, 2016 at Bethany Life Communities in Story City. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center, with Pastor Craig Blaufuss officiating. Burial will follow the services at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Leola Fern Davis was born September 11, 1917, northwest of Stanhope, the daughter of William and Nettie Duckett Scott. She married Kenneth Davis on November 3, 1940 in Stanhope. The couple farmed in the Stratford and Stanhope area. They retired in 1983 and moved to Stratford in 1986. In the fall of 1990 she moved to Ames and was a resident of Bethany Life Communities since 2010.

Fern is survived by her son, Bob (Joyce) Davis of Ames, grandchildren, Michelle (William) Jones, Stephanie (Jeffrey) Nigh and Ryan (Joni Pallos) Davis; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Aidan, Kate, Alexa, Carson; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Frank Scott, Guy Scott, Harold Scott; sisters, Ettie Hoffman, Lettie Munsinger, and Esther Pallor

She was a past member of Stanhope Parish Church.
