Mrs. Mary Frances Robbins, 83, widow of the late Rev. Ephraim Robbins and longtime resident of Webster City, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge. She had been making her home there since June, 1962. She had been in ill health the past several years.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. Paul Heath officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
Mary Frances Hermann, daughter of Henry and Johanna Hermann, was born Jan. 30, 1881, at Greenville, Miss. She spent her early life in Natchez, Miss., and New Orleans, La.
She was united in marriage Nov. 4, 1914, "The Gardens" in Natchez to the Rev. Ephraim Robbins of the Northwest Iowa Conference of the Methodist church. Mrs. Robbins ably assisted her husband in his pastoral duties at Wall Lake, Titonka and Thompson, Iowa. She was also very active in Red Cross work.
On retirement of the Rev. Mr. Robbins in 1918, the couple resided at Alden for eight years before moving to Webster City to make their home at 739 Boone St.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1930. She was also preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Robbins is survived by one step-son and one step-daughter, Ray Robbins of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Mrs. Ernest (Alice) Wickens of Normal, Ill.; and one step-granddaughter, Mrs. F. M. (Helen) Burns of Milan, Minn.
Also surviving are two step-sisters, Mrs. Ruth Gilbert of Natchez and Mrs. Suzanne Starnes of Vicksburg, Miss., two nieces and three nephews, all residing in Mississippi.
Mrs. Robbins was a member of the Methodist church and the Woman's Relief Corps.
