MRS. D. EYER PASSES AWAY

Aged Pioneer of Hamilton County Dies at Home of Daughter in Des Moines.

85 YEARS OF AGE

Husband Passed Away Little Over Week ago in Des Moines.

Following her husband's death by little more than a week, Mrs. David Eyer, a pioneer of Hamilton county, passed away this morning at 10 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. D. Hellen in Des Moines. Mr. Eyer died Tuesday, June 1, also at the daughter's home in Des Moines.

The body will be brought to this city tomorrow morning and the funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Congregational church, conducted by the Rev. Arthur Metcalf.

Mrs. Eyer had been in very feeble health for a number of years and recently it was believed had suffered a paralytic stroke. She moved to Des Moines about five and a half years ago where she was cared for by her daughter, Mrs. Hellen, and granddaughter, Miss Bessie Counts.

Mary A. Rossiter was born in Miami county, Ohio, in 1835, making her 85 years old at the time of her death. She was married to David Eyer in Ohio, Jan. 15, 1857, and the same year came to Iowa. They remained in Ottumwa one year, but in 1858 came to Webster City where they had made their home until about five years ago. In her younger days Mrs. Eyer was one of the prominent and best known women in Webster City. To Mr. and Mrs. Eyer three children were born, but the daughter in Des Moines is the only one who survives them.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Eyer belonged to the Congregational church and both were active church workers. Mrs. Eyer was a life member of the Home Missionary society, being one of its organizers, and for forty years was a teacher in the Sunday school.
