Theobald Closz Passes Away at St. Paul Today

Well Known Former Resident of This City Dies of Heart Trouble at Age of Sixty-seven Years - Had Brother and Sister in This City.

Theobald Closz, for many years a well-known resident of Hamilton county and Webster City, passed away this morning in St. Paul, Minn., after a short illness with heart trouble. He was sixty-seven years of age, having been born in Bavaria, Germany, April 28, 1856. The dispatch was received by his sister, Mrs. P.H. Ruppel, who resides on Boone street, and was not unlooked for since his serious illness was known.

Mr. Closz's brother, Charles Closz, left early this week for St. Paul, called by the former's illness, and was with his brother at the time of his passing. He will accompany the remains to this city for burial the latter part of this week. It is thought that the funeral will occur here Sunday, Nov. 25th, under the auspices of the Knights Templar, of which Masonic order, Mr. Closz was a member.

Theobald Closz came to Hamilton county in the spring of 1872, with his parents, and has lived in this community much of the time since, altho for many years he was in the stock buying and selling business in Chicago. He was engaged in the same business at St. Paul, at the time of his death. He was a man of brilliant mental attainments and will be so-remembered by those of the older residents who remember him. He is survived by a wife and several brothers and sisters, whose names are: Charles and Daniel Closz, and Mrs. P.H. Ruppel, all of this city; Adolph Closz, Ft. Dodge; Jacob Closz, St. Ansgar; Mrs. J.W. Ruppel, Fayetteville, Ark.

He was married to Harriet (Hattie) Marie Bonebright on May 8, 1879. To this union one daughter, Inez Rosalie was born, she died in infancy. He is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, Iowa.

Among those from out of the city in attendance at the funeral service of the late Theobald Closz who passed away Friday morning in St. Paul, were the following: Mrs. Theo Closz and mother, Mrs. J.M. Stanton; and brother, R.E. Stanton and wife, all of St. Paul and sister, Mrs. C.E. Stanton of Dallas, Texas. Funeral services were held at 3:30 Sunday afternoon at the Foster chapel and conducted by the Knights Templar of the Masonic order.
