Eldon G. Arends, 72, of Jewell, IA went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday April 8, 2016 at the Community Church of Kamrar with Pastor Peter Mueller officiating. Interment will follow in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Thursday at the church.

Eldon was born on May 10, 1943 the son of Wyatt and Margaret (Tempel) Arends in Webster City, IA. He grew up on a farm North of Jewell. Eldon graduated in 1961in the final graduating class of Kamrar High School.

In 1965 Eldon was united in marriage to Carolyn Ingraham in Webster City, IA. To this union a daughter Julie Lynn was born. He lived in the Jewell area his entire life.

Eldon was employed at Kern's Ready to Finish Furniture in Roland for 15 years. He was also a Farm Bureau Insurance agent for 35 years. Eldon kept busy as he also was an active Auctioneer since 1968 doing as many as 20 auctions a years as well as several charity auctions for numerous people and groups.

Eldon is survived by his wife Carloyn, daughter Julie (Andrew) Peterson, two grandchildren, Michael and Kristin Peterson, great grandson, Case Peterson, Mother in Law, Glenna Ingraham, Brother in Law, Dale (Connie) Ingraham, Sister in Law, Colleen Craven as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Arends was preceded in death by his Parents, Brother and Sister in Law, Wyatt and Rita Arends, Brother in Law, DeWayne Craven, Father in Law, Floyd Ingraham and a niece Traci Ingraham.

Eldon was a member of the Community Church of Kamrar. He served as a Trustee and an Elder. He was very active with the Vacation Bible School.

Eldon loved his family and all children and enjoyed being an announcer for many pedal pulls and other events. He enjoyed his horses and the new colts in the spring.

He will be greatly missed by many as the man South of Jewell who put up 10,000 christmas lights until his health failed.
