Charlene Louise Shore, 73, Eldora, Iowa passed away from complication of Dystonia on March 9, 2016 at the Mary Greeley Israel Hospice House in Ames, Iowa. Linn's Funeral Home in Iowa Falls and Ackley is helping with arrangements

Charlene Louise Shore, 73 of Eldora, Iowa passed away from complication of Dystonia on March 9, 2016 at the Mary Greeley Israel Hospice House in Ames, Iowa. Her body has been donated to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for further study of Dystonia. The Linn’s Funeral Home in Iowa Falls and Ackley is helping the family with arrangements. Private family committal services will be held at a later date per her wishes. Charlene Louise Cook was born November 8, 1942 in Alden, Iowa; the daughter of George and Charlotte [Bushman] Cook. She graduated from Alden Consolidated High School, and after graduation, she attended Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa. After graduation from Ellsworth she worked at Ralston Purina in Iowa Falls; Fidelity Abstract in Eldora, Iowa, and retired in 2007 after having worked at the Department of Human Services for 22 years. Her faith was important to her, being an active member of the Methodist Church. She played the piano, was in the bell choir and served on many committees there. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the P.E.O. Family was also important to Charlene. She enjoyed family reunions, trips with Joe, Mike, Tammy, Ashley, and Noah, and keeping in touch with brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends by phone and e-mail. She also enjoyed spending time with grandchildren especially at Reiman Gardens in Ames and many Iowa State Fairs. She also had a love for reading, music, sewing, quilting, and playing cards and board games with family and friends.

Charlene is survived by her husband: Joe Shore of Eldora, Iowa; son: Mike [Tammy] Shore of Waconia, Minnesota; and two grandchildren: Ashley and Noah Shore of Waconia; as well as brothers: Rev. Clive [Mavis] Cook of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Harold [Ramona] Cook of Middletown, Delaware; sixteen nieces and nephews, and extended family: sisters-in-law: Beth [Tom] Rathe and Ruth Cook and brother-in-law Randy Shore of Eldora.

Charlene is preceded in death by her parents George and Charlotte Cook; inlaws: Charles and Ruth Shore; and her sister: Catherine Smalley and brothers: Robert Cook.

“God blessed my life with Faith, Family and Friends and a Future, and it has been good.”
