Curtis O. Hanson, 83 of Kamrar, died Thursday, August 20 at Hamilton Hospital in Webster City. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Community Church of Kamrar with Rev. Dave Beals officiating. Burial was in the Homewood Cemetery in Ellsworth. A memorial fund has been established for the Community Church Youth ministries and bus fund.

Curtis Orville Hanson was born November 29, 1914 in Rose Grove Township, north of Ellsworth, the son of Harry and Mabel Susan Olson Hanson. He grew up in Ellsworth and Randall, attending school in Randall. On December 10, 1938, he married Willa Dean Anderson at the Lutheran parsonage in Brunswick, MO. They farmed in Buckeye, Ellsworth and Blairsburg from 1944 to 1970 when they moved to Kamrar. He continued to work as a construction contractor in his retirement. He was a member of the Community Church of Kamrar.

Survivors are his wife, Willa of Kamrar; three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Curtis Hanson of Sioux Falls, SD., Jerry Dean and Patricia Hanson of Edina, MN, Brian Christian and Becky Hanson of Lonsdale, MN, seven grandchildren, five great-grandsons; one brother, Willard of Ames; three sisters, Ione Hanson of Story City, Helen Newton of Iowa Falls and Ruth Erbes of Ellsworth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, two brothers and two sisters.
