Martin Franklin Jacobson, 84 years, passed away Saturday evening, January 23, 2016, in Shawnee, KS. Visitation will be at 10:00 am followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 27, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church located at 12800 West 75th Street, Shawnee, KS 66216. Officiating at the services will be Father Oswaldo Sandoval. Luncheon will follow in the church social hall.

The burial will be mid-day Saturday, January 30, at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City, IA, at a yet to be determined time (Foster Funeral Home).

Born and raised in Webster City, IA, Martin lived most of his life in Omaha, NE, with his wife of 60 years Mary Louise (Powers) Jacobson and three children Kristina Frank (Dan), Mary Pat Kruse (Kurt) and Paul Jacobson (Angie). Martin served his country as a Sergeant 1st Class in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He had a long career with Northwestern Bell Telephone/US West in Omaha, NE. After retiring, Mr. and Mrs. Jacobson lived in Rogers, AR, for 12 years and most recently in Lenexa, KS.

Martin enjoyed woodworking, welding, fishing and treasured his family and friends. Martin was active in the community having served the Jaycees, Knights of Columbus, Prairie Lane Community Council and Pool Boards, Greater Omaha Community Council, PRIDE Omaha, Ak-Sar-Ben and Piney Point Community Fire Department.

Martin is survived by his wife, three children, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Martin was preceded in death by his mother Hazel Beecher, father Carl Jacobson and sisters Darlene Baedke and Lucille Michaelson.
