Kenneth Lavern Luppes, 78, died Sunday, November 29, 2015 at his home in Fairfield, California. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, east of Kamrar with Reverend Mike Brost officiating. Burial will follow the service at the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Kenneth was born December 16, 1936 in Kamrar, Iowa to Johnnie & Pearl (Meyer) Luppes. Kenny was one of eight children, four boys and four girls. Kenny was in the United States Army where he served for two years. Shortly after his return from the Armed Forces he enrolled at the Webster City Iowa Junior College. On April 12, 1959, Kenny married Regina (Jeanne) Reinsel at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City, Iowa.

Kenny was a hard worker. His jobs included being a grain elevator manager in Hanna and Corwith. He owned and operated a corn shelling business in Blairsburg and farmed in the area for many years. In 1985, Kenny and Jeanne moved to California where they opened the family business they named Ken?s Buy and Sell. Kenny loved his job. He often said, "Everyday was a new adventure." He enjoyed seeing new faces, telling jokes and talking about being an Iowa Hog farmer.

Kenny was an avid church-goer. He thought of his church friends as family. He was a member of the Fairfield Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon for many years.

Kenny is survived by his wife of 56 years, Regina(Jeanne) Luppes; son, Ken Luppes Jr.; daughter, Beth (Luppes) Fox; granddaughters, Jillian (Fox) Ferguson and Kelsy Fox; great- granddaughter, Lexi Ferguson; brother, Johnnie Luppes Jr.; sister, Aretta Muxfeldt.

He is preceded in death by parents, Johnnie and Pearl Luppes; brothers, Verl and Orvil Luppes; sisters, Ione Hoversten, LaVonne Hanson and Lois Nixon.
