Carol Hemmen, 87, of Webster City, died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Van Diest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Pastor Craig Blaufuss officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Carol D. Lovelace was born December 6, 1927, the daughter of Chester and Cora Willson Lovelace in Madelia, MN. She attended Webster City Schools. Carol worked at the Webster City Greenhouse. She married Wayne Hemmen on June 7, 1947 in Fort Dodge. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2013.

Carol will be missed by her daughter, Carla (Doug) Youngdale of Webster City; brother, Harley Hemmen of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Robert Gale of Marshalltown; half-brothers, Howard (Sally) Lovelace, Ron Lovelace, Tom (Jill) Lovelace; half-sister, Rebecca Mies.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Hyla Gale; grandson, Troy Youngdale; half-brother, Barry Lovelace; half-sisters, Diana Lovelace and Marcella Thurmes.

She was a past member of the Church of Christ. Carol was a member of the Royal Neighbors, Al-Anon and Women of the Moose.
