Alyce Bottorff, 98, of Webster City, died Saturday, June 18, 2005 at Crestview Senior Living. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2005 at the Foster Chapel, with Rev. Marilyn Buchanan officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fosters from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and prior to the service on Saturday.

Alyce Mae Carson, daughter of George and Betsy Bergman Carson, was born September 28, 1906 at Webster City. She graduated from Kamrar high school in 1924. She also graduated from the Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls and taught in rural schools for five years. On January 24, 1928, she married Roy Wilson Bottorff at Fort Dodge. The couple farmed near Webster City and Blairsburg. They moved to Webster City in 1974. Mr. Bottorff died January 23, 1986. She had resided at Crestview since October of 2002.

Mrs. Bottorff is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Lorraine Bottorff of Kingston, WA, Don and Beth Bottorff of Webster City, daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Thomas Taylor of Shell Rock, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, sister, Doris Hackley of Sunnyvale, CA, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Dianne Bottorff, in infancy, son, Daryl Bottorff, daughter-in-law, Mary Bottorff, grandson, Tom Bottorff; her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

She was a former member of the Kamrar United Methodist Church, a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women - Ruth Circle, Neighborhood Women's Club and a Hamilton County 4-H leader, she enjoyed reading, cooking, flower gardening and most of all her family.
