Chad Rattenborg, 40, of Webster City, died Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Van Diest Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Foster Funeral & Cremation Center, with Rev. Jeff Flagg officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fosters from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Chad James Rattenborg, son of Darrell and Jacque Hoesing Rattenborg, was born November 13, 1974 at Carroll, Iowa. He graduated from Audubon High School in 1993.

He attended the University of Northern Iowa and received a BA in Biology with an emphasis in Natural History Interpretation. On March 16, 2002, he married Tammy Jo Winkler at the Community Church of Kamrar. He had been employed at Van Diest Supply in preventative maintenance.

Chad is survived by his wife, Tammy; son, Chase Rattenborg and daughter, Sierra Rattenborg; mother, Jacque Rattenborg, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joseph and LaRe Winkler; sister-in-law, Tracey (Jason) Henderson, all of Webster City; nieces, Kassandra Clark, Brooklyn Henderson, Bryar Henderson; nephews, Dalton (Amanda) Clark and Travis Clark; aunts and uncles, Darwin and Diane Rattenborg, Janet and Tom Hall, Jean and Ron Perkins, Joyce and Brian Ahlquist, June and Jack Carlisle, Joletta Hoesing, Jeffy Fisher, John and Jolene Winkler, Leonard Neitzle, Keith and Deb Combs, George Russell Combs, and grandmother-in-law, LaVaun Winkler.

He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell; grandparents, Clarence and Myrtle Rattenborg, Julius and Alverta Hoesing, Barbara Combs, Beadford Combs; aunts and uncles, Judy and Bill Sage, Jean Neitzle, and Jim Hoesing.

Chad was actively involved in his children's sports, coaching for the Webster City Wolves, Webster City Little League, and Webster City Youth Football. He was a member of the Brushy Creek Bass Association and a certified weather spotter.
