Dean Ubben Died Sunday

ELLSWORTH - Dean Arend Ubben, 19, died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday of acute leukemia at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arend Ubben in rural Ellsworth. He had been ill for one month.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, at the Becker funeral home in Jewell and at 1:30 at the Presbyterian church southeast of Kamrar. The Rev. Harold DeVries will officiate. He will be buried in the Presbyterian cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Willis Ubben, Wayne Ubben, Keith McCollough, Donald McCollough, Clifford Caruth and Clayton Caruth.

Dean Ubben, son of Arend Ubben and Myrtle Hegland was born Oct. 4, 1939 at Webster City and baptized Dec. 5, 1939. He lived in rural Ellsworth all of his life. He was graduated from Ellsworth high school in 1957. He had been employed at the Carl Nelson farm since graduation.

He is survived by his parents, two brothers, Paul and Robert, and one sister, Marilyn, all at home.
