James B. Kennedy Dies at Home in Kamrar

For Forty Years a Resident of Hamilton County Passes Away at Age of Seventy-one - Is Survived by Wife and Seven Sons - Funeral Services Saturday Afternoon.

James B. Kennedy, seventy-one years of age and for the past forty years a resident of Hamilton county, passed away at his home in Kamrar last night at 8:30 o'clock, after an illness which has only been acute since last Sunday, altho he had been in failing health for a long time, with hardening of the arteries.

Mr. Kennedy was born in Clark county, Missouri, November 25, 1851 and was therefore seventy-one years of age last fall. He removed to Illinois when a young man, where he was united in marriage at Lincoln, Ill., with Miss Eliza Miller, February 17, 1875. To this union was born seven sons, all of whom are living.

Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy and children came to Hamilton county, forty years ago from Beeson, Ill., and settled upon a farm near Kamrar, from which Mr. Kennedy retired seven years ago to his residence in Kamrar. He was a member of the Woodmen and Yeoman orders and was a well known farmer of Hamilton county. He is survived by his wife and the following sons:

John Kennedy, Sioux City; Leo and Otto, living near Kamrar; Oscar, Dexter, Minn.; Will and Glen Kennedy, living near Galt; Richard Kennedy, living in this city. One sister living in Hannibal, Mo., also survives.

The funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the Methodist church of Kamrar, conducted by Rev. J. R. Farnham pastor of the church. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery, this city.
