Earl Scott Granby, 64, Kamrar, died Tuesday, March 19, at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 22, at 2 p.m. at the Community Church of Kamrar, Dr. Craig A. Bex officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Earl Scott Granby, son of Earl and Mabel (Alvestad) Granby, was born April 8, 1926, in Jewell. He attended school in Randall and Jewell. He was a World War II veteran. He married Mildred Hinckel on Nov. 6, 1948 in Odessa, Mo. The couple resided in Jewell for 37 years before moving to Kamrar four years ago. Mr. Granby retired in 1978 from the National Animal Disease laboratory in Ames where he worked as a lab technician for 18 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred, Kamrar; a son, Larry Granby, Central City, Colo.; three daughters, Deanna Patterson, Jewell; Debra Bigelow, Madrid, and Sharon Teig, Ellsworth; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and one step great-granddaughter; his mother, Mabel Doolittle, Bethany Manor in Story City, and a sister, Arlene Greiner, Jewell.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Granby was a member of the Lions Club, the Gideons and the Community Church of Kamrar.
