Sandra Spires Swartz, born 12/13/41 in Webster City, IA to Clifford and Lavaughn Spires, passed to a better place without pain on 2/18/15 at the Hospice of the Valley, Lund house in Gilbert AZ. Sandi graduated from Webster City high school and Jr. College and William Penn University. Sandi taught school in Iowa, Colorado, Michigan and Montana prior to moving to Mesa in 1980. She (Mrs. S) did substitute teaching in the east valley for close to 20 years mainly in elementary grades. Not a day went by that a crossword puzzle wasn't usually finished. She enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening and riding her motorcycle. Sandi was an absolute lover of Christmas! Every year since moving to Arizona, she and Lee (husband) decorated the house with thousands of lights and dressed up as Mr.and Mrs. Clause and accepted donations for The Child Crisis Center. She loved watching childrens eyes sparkle when they would look at the snowman in the front yard! Sandi will always be remembered for her spirit and spunk and her loving heart. Sandi married Lee Swartz in 1969 and they had 1 daughter, Amy Jane Muhsman, and 3 grandsons, Nathan, Austin, and Waylen Conner who were the loves of her life!

Sandi is survived by husband, Lee, daughter Amy, 3 grandsons and sister, Ellen of Des Moines, IA. Memorial services for the family have been held.
