Claude E. Woolery, 44, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at his home, 609 Merritt street. His death was sudden, due to a heart attack.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. Jonathan Nielsen officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Claude Edward Woolery, son of Dana and Sadie Woolery, was born Sept. 17, 1908, on a farm near Truro, Iowa. He was reared and educated in that community and was graduated from Truro high school in 1927. He was 18 years old when he came to Webster City and engaged in farming for several years.

He took a position with the Greeley Furniture Co., a position he held for 10 years. For the past 12 years he had been employed at Beam Mfg. Co.

He was united in marriage to Miss Lucille Schnell May 15, 1932 and the couple had always resided in Webster City.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Gary L. Woolery of Webster City, and by two sisters, Mrs. Glenn Vogan of El Paso, Texas, and Mrs. Homer Lynch of St. Charles, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Woolery was baptized in the Methodist faith at Truro but had attended the Baptist church in Webster City.

Mr. Woolery was known as a friendly, conscientious worker who had a keen interest in sports and community affairs. He will be missed not only by his immediate family but by the many friends he had made during his residence in Webster City.
