WEBSTER CITY RESIDENT DIES

Joachim Wahlers Funeral Services Will Be Held Tuesday

Joachim Wahlers, 77, of Webster City, died Sunday morning about 11 o'clock at the Farnham nursing home, where he had been a patient since Wednesday. The cause of his death was cancer. He had been in poor health since January and seriously ill for about two weeks.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Foster funeral home. The Rev. James C. Suter will officiate.

Mr. Wahlers was born Nov. 28, 1864 in Germany. He came to the United States at the age of 16, locating immediately in Webster City. Three years later, his father came to this country and purchased a farm three and one-half miles north of Kamrar, which became the family home.

Elizabeth Criel, of Woolstock, became his bride in April, 1897, in Webster City. They made their home on the farm place until 1927 when they retired and moved to Webster City, where they lived at 1117 Water street.

Mrs. Wahlers passed away in 1934. He was also preceded in death by three children, who died in infancy.

Mr. Wahlers is survived by one son, J.F. Wahlers, of Webster City, five grandchildren, one brother, Fred, of St. Paul, Minn., and one sister, Mrs. Annie Criel, of Olivia, Minn.

He was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Germany, and was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church in Webster City.
