Triple Rites Held Here for Crash Victims

Triple funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today at the Foster Funeral home for the three victims of the auto-train accident which occurred Thursday morning four miles east of Webster City.

With the Rev. R. M. Roden officiating, services were held for Mrs. Bruce (Linda Belle) McGill, 22; her 22-month old son, Bruce Craig Brooks McGill, II, and for Mrs. Donna Gale McGill, 46, of Huron, S.D.

The three were instantly killed at about 9:35 a.m. when the auto Mrs. Donna McGill was reportedly driving, was hit broadside by an Illinois Central freight train. The victims were apparently heading north toward the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce McGill, located about four miles north of the rural crossing.

Following the services held here this morning, the bodies were taken to Huron, S. D. where triple services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Grace Episcopal church with the Rev. Father Walter Jones of Bismark, N.D., officiating. Burial for Mrs. Bruce McGill and her son will be at Riverside cemetery at Huron.

Graveside rites for Mrs. Donna McGill will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Graceland cemetery in Mitchell, S.D.

The bodies will lie in state at the Welter Funeral home in Huron Friday evening and until the time of services, Saturday.

Linda Belle Lyon, daughter of Park and Belle Lyon, was born Jan. 1, 1945, at Huron, S. D. She attended schools there and was graduated from high school, later attending Huron college for two and one-half years. She was united in marriage Dec. 21, 1964, to Bruce C. Brooks McGill, and the couple resided at Huron, Tucson, Ariz., and Sheldon, Iowa, but since March 13, 1967, they had resided at Route 3, Webster City.

Mr. McGill has been an announcer at Station KJFJ since that time.

She is survived by her husband; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyon of Huron; one sister, Mrs. Robert (Susan) Knight, Jr., of Brookings, S.D.

Bruce Craig Brooks McGill, II was born Sept. 10, 1965, at Tucson, Ariz. The infant is survived by his father and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Park Lyon of Huron, S. D.

Donna Gale Craig, daughter of Leroy and Ruth Craig, was born Jan. 5, 1921, at Mitchell, S. D. and attended schools at Mitchell and Platte, S. D. She was graduated from high school at Huron, then took nurse's training at the Methodist State Hospital in Mitchell where she received her R. N. degree.

She was united in marriage in the fall of 1942 to 1st Lt. Bruce B. Brooks. He was a pilot in World War II and was killed in the line of duty in October, 1943.

She was united in marriage in 1948 to Basil Lewis McGill, and the couple resided at Mitchell and Sioux City, Iowa. He preceded her in death at Sioux City in March, 1958. She returned to Mitchell, residing there for three years before moving to Omaha. In 1964, she returned to Huron and had been employed as a staff nurse at the Huron Clinic for Drs. Grady and Adams.

She is survived by her son, Bruce, of Webster City; her step-mother, Mrs. Mildred C. Craig of Huron; and two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Bame, Flagstaff, Ariz., and Mrs. Jeanne Biggar, Raleigh, N. C.
