Jesse Arthur Lindebak, son of Edward O. and Emma (Ostrus) Lindebak, was born August 18, 1890 at Ellsworth. He was married in 1910 to Laura T. Sanford. They farmed near Ellsworth until 1917 when they moved to LuVerne and entered into the grain business. From 1940 until his retirement in 1957, he was in the implement business.

During the 50 years in LuVerne, Jesse was active in civic affairs, serving on the school board for 20 years, he also served on the town council, and was a member of the LuVerne Commercial Club for as long as he was in business. He was a longtime member of the Jasper Masonic Lodge #424 at Livermore.

Mr. Lindebak was baptized and confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church of Ellsworth, and after coming to LuVerne, he attended the LuVerne Methodist Church.

He passed away January 18, 1957, at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge.

Preceding Mr. Lindebak in death were an infant son, his father and mother, two brothers and one sister.

Surviving are his wife, Laura, three children, Mrs. Duane (Ferne) Neal; Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Hanselman; and Edward, all of LuVerne; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold, of Radcliffe, three sisters, Mrs. Scott (Mabelle) Brinton, Mrs. Amanda Thoreson, both of Ellsworth and Mrs. Ida Knudson of Story City.
