Lois Thompson, 92, Anamosa, a former Ellsworth resident, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998 at the Anamosa Care Center in Anamosa. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth, with Rev. Mike Herschberger to officiate. Burial will follow at Homewood Cemetery in Ellsworth.

Becker Funeral Home in Jewell is in charge of arrangements.

[Lois Thompson was born in Ellsworth to Joseph and Hannah (Lindebak) Olsen. She attended school in Ellsworth and graduated from the University of Iowa. She taught school at Rockwell City and Waverly. On April 28, 1934 she married Raymond Arthur Thompson in Freeport, Ill. They lived in Lake Mills briefly before returning to Ellsworth. Mrs. Thompson was an active member of Trinity Lutheran church in Ellsworth, participating in many church activities and the Study Club. She was also involved with many community organizations.

Survivors include a son, Ray Thompson of Goldthwaite, Texas; two daughters, Ann Pearson of Anamosa and Carolyn Boyken of Madison, Wis.; a sister, Francis Jo Smith of Johnston; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966, a sister and a brother in infancy.
