Beatrice Peterson Greiman, 90, Ames, a former Jewell resident, died Sunday, Nov 7, 1999 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m Wednesday at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell with Rev. Dale R. Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Randall. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. A memorial fund has been established for the Jewell Fire and Rescue Squad and the Bethesda Lutheran Church. Becker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Beatrice Olson was born July 31, 1909 near Randall to Martin and Belle Egland Olson. She grew up in the Randall area, graduating from Randall High School in 1927. On Sept. 6, 1928, she married Russell Victor Peterson. They farmed near Randall and northeast of Ellsworth. Mr. Peterson died on Nov. 17, 1944 as a result of a car-train accident. She moved to Jewell and became a cook for several area restaurants, retiring in 1960. She married Reuben Martin Greiman on June 29, 1956 in Kenyon, MN. He died on August 19, 1990. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church, and was active in the BLCW Ladies Aide. She had recently made her home at the Grand Avenue Care Center in Ames.

Survivors are her son, Leslie Peterson of Lakewood, CO, two daughters, Marilyn Johnson, Roland, LaVon Jessen of Macomb, IL.; three grandchildren, Todd Jessen, Lisa Jessen and Vicki Hatcher, a great-grandchild, John Rodney Hatcher, three step-children, Darrell Greiman, Ankeny, Cecil Greiman and Mabel Lang, both of Des Moines, nine step-grandchildren, and ten step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, four brothers: Archie Olson, Floyd Olson, Milo Olson and Clarence Olson, and three sisters, Myra Affolter, Grace Jacobson, and Genora Larson.
