E.F. Stoner Dies at 53
JEWELL - Ernest Floyd Stoner, 53, died Monday at the Hamilton county hospital where he had been a patient only one day.
Funeral services will be on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Federated church in Jewell. The body will lie in state at the Becker Funeral home until 1 p.m. when it will be taken to the church.
The Rev. Noel P. Orcutt will officiate and burial will be [in] Evergreen Cemetery.
Ernest Floyd Stoner, son of Isaac Edward and Winnie Stafford Stoner, was born May 4, 1912 near Stratford. He resided in the Stratford community and also in the Dayton community before moving to Jewell about 33 years ago and engaged in farming.
He was married to Leta June Wilson in 1934 at Webster City.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
He is survived by three children, Mrs. Dick (Sharon) Bergman of Webster City, Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Hansen of Mason City, and Wendell Stoner of Jewell; one brother, Earl Stoner of Redwood Falls, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Paul and Mrs. Lester Gabrielson, both of Stratford and 11 grandchildren (Daily Freeman-Journal, Wed. 3 Nov 1965).
