James W. Lyons, 42, died Saturday afternoon at the Hamilton County hospital where he had been a patient the past week. He had been in ill health the past three years.

Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Dale Kelly officiating and with burial in the Cass Center cemetery where military services will be held.

James Willard Lyons, son of Bertrum and Anna Clockman Lyons, was born Sept. 4, 1925, at Amboy, Minn. When he was four years of age, he moved with his parents to Mankato, where the family resided for two years before coming to Webster City. He was graduated from Webster City high school in 1942.

He entered the U.S. armed services Dec. 21, 1943, and served with the Co. M of the 35th Infantry Division in the South Pacific. He was discharged in 1946 and returned to Webster City.

He was united in marriage Sept. 18, 1947, to Nadine Bohnett, and the couple had always since resided in Webster City where Mr. Lyons was employed by the Franklin Mfg. Co.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter and two sons, Mrs. Jon (Jackie) Howe of Marion, Iowa; Jimmy and Ricky, both at home; one step-daughter, Mrs. Jack (Linda) Phifer of Fort Sumter, S.C., three brothers and three sisters, Harley Lyons and Garvin Lyons, both of Webster City, Victor Lyons, San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Helen Bargen, Englewood, Fla., Mrs. Louise Broas, Princeton, Minn., and Mrs. Leslie (Ayleen) Eggers, Kamrar; also several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
