John Flugstad

John Flugstad, age 68, of 1921 West Third Street Extension in Boone, died October 5, 2014, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

A visitation will be Tuesday, October 7, 2014, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets. The family will be present from 6 to 7 p.m.

Private family funeral services will be held Wednesday. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City.

John Arthur Flugstad was born in Webster City, Iowa, on August 18, 1946, the son of Herschel and Dorothy (Nelson) Flugstad.

He graduated from Webster City High School.

In earlier years, he worked for the Iowa Highway Commission and Quinn Machine and Foundry.

For 32 years, he worked for Electrolux in Webster City.

John enjoyed being with his family and friends, taking care of his dog Oakley and his cat Cassie.

He also enjoyed music, electronics, singing, fishing, camping, and riding his Harley motorcycle.

John also liked going to garage and antique sales and riding his bicycle.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his two sons Mike Flugstad and wife Brenda of Boone and Josh Flugstad of Webster City; his three daughters Jill Harrington and husband Todd of Boone, Joy Fopma and husband Aaron of Webster City, and Lori Hartnett and husband Todd of Webster City; a sister Nola Knudsen and husband David of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren which include Logan Harrington, Morgan Harrington, Ashely Beary, Cassie Bunning, Jessica Wisecup; and four great-grandchildren: Katelynn Beary, Baylee Bunning, Tate Bunning, and Macee Wisecup.
