Simeon Stark Services Held Near Stanhope
Funeral services for Simeon Stark, 78, of Des Moines, former resident of Stanhope, were held Tuesday at Dunn's funeral home in Des Moines, with burial at 2:30 p.m. at Lawnhill cemetery near Stanhope. Mr. Stark died suddenly Saturday of a heart attack at his home in Des Moines.
Born in Bloomington, Ill., he came to Iowa as a small child, the family locating on a farm in Hamilton county where he spent his childhood and attended the schools.

He was married July 3, 1888, to Mary Mathilda Haney and at that time moved to Stanhope where he entered business, operating the only drug store in town for a number of years.

For 21 years he was agent for the American Life Insurance company.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Iva Dillon of Kalamazoo, Mich., and a son, Rex, of Des Moines. There are also two grandchildren, Deborah Stark and Bob Dillon.
