Brady Willard, 62, of Eagle Grove, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion. Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Private family burial will take place at a later date.

Brady James Willard, the son of Louis and Jean (Conaway) Willard, was born September 25, 1950, at his family home in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove. Brady began working for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad at the age of 16, retiring on Oct. 1, 2010. Brady served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War – June 25, 1970 until his honorable discharge on December 30, 1971. He also served in the Army National Guard, retiring after 27 years of service.

On June 30, 1973, Brady married Barbara Thielen and they had three children: Jennifer, Jessica and Joseph. The couple later divorced.

In 1990, Brady married Kathleen (Glissmann) Schmanke.

Brady loved to play golf and just learned he enjoyed fishing after his first fishing trip during the summer of 2012.

Brady passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion, at the age of 62 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Amanda Lalor and nephew, Steven Willard.

Brady is survived by his wife, Kathy Willard of Eagle Grove; two daughters, Jennifer Carter and husband Chad of Eagle Grove and Jessica Willard and Steve Claude of Woolstock; son, Joseph Willard and fiancé Stacy of Eagle Grove; step-son, Don Schmanke of Goldfield; four grandchildren: Bailey, Damian, Madison and Alec Huffaker; five brothers: Terry, Bud, Gary, Mark and Wade and six sisters: Naomi, Carla, Jackie, Michelle, Gwen and Candy.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 8, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
