Eleanor Stowe, 95, of Iowa Falls, passed away Saturday at Scenic Manor. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the First Christian Church, in Iowa Falls. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery in Iowa Falls.

Eleanor Stowe, 95, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010, at Scenic Manor. Funeral services for Eleanor Stowe will be 10:30 am Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the First Christian Church, 221 Fischer Avenue, Iowa Falls, with Pastor T. J. Norman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls. Eleanor Elizabeth Richtsmeier was born June 21, 1915, in Etna Township, Hardin County, Iowa, the daughter of William J. and Lena [Courdes] Richtsmeier. She attended a rural school, graduated from Ackley High School and Drake University. She began teaching in a one room school and had taught in Vincent and Thor, Iowa, with the last 14 years of her 42 year teaching career at Eagle Grove, Iowa Community Schools. On September 18, 1937 Eleanor was united in marriage to Lyle B. "Chuck" Stowe at Kirksville, Missouri. To this union two children were born: Jean and Robert. Eleanor enjoyed her exercise club and her fellow card players. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Iowa Falls and the Eastern Star (past Worthy Matron).

Survivors include a daughter: Jean Zimmerman and husband Larry of Baraboo, Wisconsin; a son: Robert Stowe of Castro Valley, California; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; William and Lena Richtsmeier; her husband: Lyle Stowe; one sister: Lois; and a brother: Paul along with an infant brother.
