Miss Helen Doris Welp, 27, died at 5:10 p.m., yesterday, January 26, 1951 at the home of her parents, one-fourth of a mile south of Kamrar. She had been in poor health about four and one-half years, but more seriously ill since last August.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 at the Presbyterian church east of Kamrar, preceded by a brief service at 1 o'clock at the home. The Rev. August Cramer and the Rev. Roy Richards will officiate. Burial will be made in the Presbyterian cemetery.

Helen Doris Welp, daughter of Eppo and Bertha Welp, was born Sept. 27, 1923, on the Welp farm south of Kamrar. She received her elementary schooling in the rural schools near Kamrar and was graduated from Kamrar high school in 1940. She attended Webster junior college for one year and taught school for three years in Hamilton County. She attended and was graduated from the Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls.

Following her graduation from Iowa State Teachers she taught in the second grade at the schools in West Bend, but in February, 1948, she resigned because of her health.

She is survived by her parents, four brothers and three sisters: Mrs. George (Irene) Fonken of Kamrar; Mrs. Maynard (Eunice) Peterson of Stanhope; Dorothy at home; Marion Welp of Kamrar; Lloyd Welp of Los Angeles; Pvt. Willis, stationed at Camp Atterbury, Ind., and Edwin of Kamrar. Also surviving are five nieces and one nephew; her grandfather, Ben Mechaelsen of Kamrar, and several aunts and uncles including Adolf Welp, who had made his home at the Eppo Welp home.

She was baptized in the Presbyterian faith. She became a member of the Methodist church in April 25, 1943. She was active in church work both in Sunday school and Bible school as long as her health permitted. Miss Welp was a friendly, neighborly young woman who was well liked by everyone who knew her, and she had made many close friends and acquaintances through her school and church work.
