Douglas Lynn Chalfant, 55, of Webster City, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010 at home in Webster City. A memorial service will be held at Boman Funeral Home in Webster City on Saturday Oct. 9, 2010 at 7 PM.
Doug was born to Kenmore Jr. & Beverly (Short) Chalfant on Feb. 6, 1955 in Webster City, IA. He graduated from Radcliffe High School. On June 16, 1973, he was united in marriage to Susan Ankrum. He served in the US Army from 1976 to 1979 in Ft. Eustis, Virginia. The couple moved to Arizona in 1984. Doug was employed as a warehouseman at Orion Press, a printing company. In 2009 they moved back to Webster City to be close to family. He enjoyed playing with the grandchildren, fishing, camping, and hiking in the mountains. He loved riding his motorcycle and finding treasures in the strangest places.
Survivors include: his wife of 37 years; two daughters Amy (Johnny) Perez of Dallas, TX & Marie (Damian) Lofton of Phoenix, AZ; son Brandon Patterson of Webster City; seven grandchildren Kayla, Tasia, Jeremiah, Gabrielle, Kacie, Sophia, & Ethan; great granddaughter Lilliana; two brothers Burnith of Webster City & Lloyd (Cindy) Urbandale, IA; sister Rene (Michael) Carney of Glenwood, IA & sister-in-law Dori of Carthage, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents & brother (Sam).
