James F. Schoettmer, 57, of Bandera, TX and formerly of Duncombe, died Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 9th in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Deman officiating. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. in St Joseph's Cemetery, Duncombe. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Surviving is his mother, Violet of Fort Dodge; brother, Cliff Schoettmer and his wife Mary of Peoria, IL; sister, Donna Vinsant and her husband Abe of Webster City. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Schoettmer.

James F. Schoettmer was born October 16, 1952 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He attended schools in Webster City and graduated from Webster City High School in 1971. Following his education Jim moved to California and later to Arizona and Texas. He worked construction, mainly in the roofing business, for most of his adult life. While making his home in Arizona, Jim gave desert tours on horseback which was one of his favorite hobbies
