Charlotte L. (Plager) Withers, 77, of Lafayette, died at 10:15 a.m. Aug. 1, 2010 at Clarian Arnett Hospital. Born June 22, 1933 in Grundy Center, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Bessie Wheelock Plager. On September 5, 1954 she married Stanley M. Withers in Blairsburg. He preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1983.

She was a member of Community Reformed Church where she served as a Sheparding Elder and was involved and led Bible studies. She was a member of Christian Women's Association and very active in the Christian community in greater Lafayette, and Homemaker's Extension Club. She was a lunch mother at Miami Elementary School for 23 years. Her favorite activity was taking care of her grandchildren. Charlotte honored God in all areas of her life and loved everyone that came into her life. Surviving is a daughter: Carla A. Withers-Wintz (husband, Tony) of St. Johns, MI; a son: Mark L. Withers (wife, Michelle) of Lafayette; and a brother: Paul Plager (wife, Sondra) of Caldonia, MN. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: Andrew Wintz, Emilee Wintz, Colton Withers, Josh Withers, and Alyssa Withers; and 2 great grandchildren: Devin Wintz and Abryona Perkins. She was preceded in death by a sister: Virginia Hughes and her parents. Wilbur and Bessie Plager.

A burial and graveside service was held at Conrad Cemetery in Conrad, Iowa, with Pastor Jim Harmon officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Reformed Church Outreach Fund.
