Donald J. Henrich, 75, Iowa Falls, passed away Friday at the Heritage Care Center. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. today at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Iowa Falls.

Donald J. Henrich, 75, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Friday, July 30, 2010 at the Heritage Care Center, Iowa Falls, Iowa. A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald Henrich will be 10:30 am Monday, August 2, 2010 at St. Mark's Catholic Church; 415 Main Street, Iowa Falls. A Rosary will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, August 1st; followed by a time of visitation until a 7:30 pm Vigil Service all to be held at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Iowa Falls. Memorials may be directed to the Donald and Bonnie Henrich Endowed Scholarship, c/o Ellsworth College Foundation, 1100 College Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126; the St. Mark Parish, 415 Main Street, Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126, or to Hospice of North Iowa, 232 2ND Street S.E., Mason City, IA 50401. Burial will be at St. Mark Cemetery, Iowa Falls, with military honors provided by the United States Army Honors Program and Hyman - Peavey American Legion Post # 188, Iowa Falls. Donald Joseph Henrich was born August 15, 1934, at Templeton, Iowa, the son of Harold and Mary [Schrad] Henrich. He graduated from Carroll High School with the class of 1952. He served with the United States Army from October 5, 1953 to September 30, 1955. He attended the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, South Dakota, and graduated from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, with a BS in Engineering in 1960. On August 24, 1957 Don was united in marriage to Bonnie Ann Heisterkamp at Breda, Iowa. To this union four children were born: Michael, Karen, Sandra, and Mary Beth. Don was an engineer with Prestressed Concrete, Iowa Falls retiring in 1999. He was a member of St. Mark Parish, Iowa Falls; the Frank McGivney Knights of Columbus Council # 5835; the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge # 1674; the Iowa Falls Lions Club (past president); Hyman-Peavey American Legion Post # 188, Iowa Falls; the Ellsworth College Board of Trustees; the Ellsworth Foundation Board; the E-Club Board of Directors; the Iowa Falls State Bank Board of Directors; the Barlow Family Foundation Board of Directors; the Highland Country Club; the Hi-Low Investment Club; and the Iowa Concrete Association. He took great pride in his community and loyally served it in numerous ways.

Don Henrich is survived by his wife: Bonnie Henrich of Iowa Falls; his children: Michael Henrich of Anchorage, Alaska, Karen [Kevin] Brandenburg of Burnsville, Minnesota, Sandee [Mike] Supple of Leawood, Kansas, Mary Beth [Todd] Tystahl of West Des Moines, Iowa; six grandchildren: Monica, Rachel and Sarah Supple of Leawood, Kansas, Nathan, Ryan, and Anna Tystahl of West Des Moines, Iowa; and one brother: Robert [Charlotte] Henrich of Carroll, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents: Harold (Fuzzy) and Mary Henrich; and his mother and father-in-law: Leo (Blackie) and Leonilla (Lill) Heisterkamp.
