"John H. Thompson, of Honolulu, who, with his family, has been spending the past year here and in the east, died last night at 10 o'clock, at the residence of S. A. Havens. His disease was enlargement of the heart, which covered a space of just two weeks, was intense. He leaves a wife (Sarepta A. Duncan Thompson) and two sons (John H. and William), aged respectively seven and three and a half years, to mourn his early taking off. His age was 43 years and 4 months. Mr. Thompson was a devoted and well advanced Mason, and his remains will be buried tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock by the Masonic order of this place. Services at Mr. Havens' residence and the open grave of the departed brother."
