Glenn Reisetter, age 89, of Radcliffe, Iowa, died at his home Sunday, February 14, 2010.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Salem Lutheran Church in rural Radcliffe. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, rural Ellsworth.

Visitation will be 4-8:00 pm, Wednesday, at the Boeke Funeral Home in Radcliffe. Family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm.

Glenn Reisetter was born on May 2, 1920, on the original farm homestead near Radcliffe, Iowa. He was one of seven children born to Alfred and Georgina Reisetter. Glenn and his twin brother, Allan, were the first baptized of Salem Lutheran Church after the building of the new church. He was later confirmed and remained a lifelong member.

On September 11, 1942, he entered the Armed Forces serving with the 1st Infantry Division Big Red 1 and the 1st and 7th Army in the battles of Tunisia, Sicily, Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He received the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, and European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with seven Battle Stars, five Overseas Bars and one Service Stripe. He was discharged September 16, 1945, as a Corporal.

On November 1, 1945, he was married to Letty Marie Hilpipre of Blairsburg. Glenn spent his entire life farming and raising cattle. Glenn and Letty enjoyed spending their winters in Texas. Glenn enjoyed golfing at the Friendly Fairways in Radcliffe with his friends and gardening.

Death came to Glenn on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at his home in Radcliffe surrounded by his family.

Those remaining to cherish his memory include his wife Letty of Radcliffe; one daughter Karen Gaunt of Apple Valley, MN; one daughter-in-law Jackie Reisetter of Ames; two sons Merritt (Jan) Reisetter and Rick (Laurie) Reisetter both of Radcliffe; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ora Handeland, brothers Burnith, Atlee, Elvin, twin brother Allan and Leo, son Bernard, son-in-law.
